I had a very successful legit Internal Medicine practice in Alabama for almost 15 years. I never had a malpractice suit against me until these unfounded accusations were brought…	Dr Herrera with son Derek
Because a portion of my practice was “Chronic Pain Management" and I was having to see the patients frequently to guard against drug diversion/misuse Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama audited me. BC/BS then reported it to the Alabama Medical Board. The Board found a local Family Practitioner with the education of 1-2 hours of Pain Management at his small hospital to say that I prescribed too much… The hearing before the Board was held at the same time 3 young men from prominent families (none my patients) died misusing Oxycontin in Etowah County. The top “Pain Management” experts in the U.S. stated that everything I did was appropriate. They were able to read the handwriting, which the Board said was illegible. That is how I lost my career!
These are my three kids who moved to Philly with their mother when my license was revoked in 2001. They were down visiting the last week of August. The photos were taken at my office in Leesburg they are also planning to move back to Alabama soon.
Alyssa, me and Kristi	Kristi is 15 years old, has always made straight A's and plans to go into medicine.
Derek is 12 years old now and learned how to cut grass this summer. Alyssa is 7 years old and plays with dolls.	(1936) is my father (far right), his brother an Engineer (went to Unv of AL) and a friend at the University.
